Our Story
Barrique Brewing & Blending was founded in 2017 by Owner and Blender Joel Stickrod in Nashville, Tennessee. With a simple vision: to bring oak-aging, mixed fermentation, and classic brewing traditions to the heart of the South.
We started small, just a few barrels, some wild cultures, and a deep appreciation for how time and wood can shape a beer. Over the years, we’ve grown into a full-fledged brewery focused on patience, natural processes, and brewing beers that reflect both tradition and place.
Our name, Barrique, comes from the French word for an oak barrel, the same kind used in winemaking, and those barrels remain at the heart of what we do. We take our time with every beer, letting the oak guide the flavor, character, and expression of each batch.
In 2020, we moved into our current location at 30 Oldham Street, and with it, expanded our lineup to include a wide range of oak-aged lagers, spontaneous and mixed-fermentation ales, classic European styles like German and Czech pilsners, cask-conditioned ales, as well as rustic Belgian saisons.
You won’t find overly flashy hype beers here. We’re more into slow pours, bottle shares, and quiet moments with something complex in your glass. If you’re into wild ales, traditional lagers, cask-conditioned beers, or beers that blur the line between farmhouse and fine wine, you’ll probably feel right at home.
We’re proud to be part of Nashville’s evolving craft beer scene, and even prouder to share beers that are thoughtful, drinkable, and just a little bit different.
